ISO Respiratory Head Form

Using our expertise of low-volume silicone moulding and our knowledge of human factor testing, we have devised our own version of the ISO Head Form that is considerate of the modularity required by the standard for field of view (FOV) and noise measurement.
Driving a New Standard
When the new ISO 16900 standards for respiratory protective devices come into force, a new range of Head Forms will also be required. We have been an active part of the task group responsible for the development of these Head Forms, our membership to the International Society for Respiratory Protection (ISRP) and our years of consultancy in the PPE market highlights our competency to undertake a project of this importance.
This new range of Head Forms focuses upon standardisation; the original Head Form scans were anatomically correct but for testing purposes they had too much detail, the necks were too short to accommodate neck seals and did not encompass all features necessary for consistency of performance across the range.
Using our expertise of low-volume silicone moulding and our knowledge of human factor testing, we have devised our own version of the ISO Head Form that is considerate of the modularity required by the standard for field of view (FOV) and noise measurement. Using our in-house design and 3D printing capabilities we are able to provide bespoke solutions for alternative light fittings and microphones.
We have a full range of 5 Head Forms in the field for testing at laboratories in the UK, USA and Germany for ongoing verification, practical feedback and industrial development. It must be noted that the updated ISO 16900 has not been officially released and that the Head Forms depicted could change.
